Has anyone on the Forum purchased date code glass from O. E. M Glass Inc? I'm wondering if the coding meets all the NCRS requirements? OEM's prices are below Corvette America and Corvette Central. Are there any other glass manufacturers supplying date coded glass for C2's?
OEM Glass was the original repro glass maker. I'm sure that they're now one of the manufacturers of repro glass that the other vendors sell. I'd "go to the source". Chuck
USED TO BE: That the reproduction glass was date coded on the surface layer and the original glass' date code was sandwiched in the layer, and when viewed at the proper perspective, this was discernable. Of course NCRS knocked off points accordingly.
Thanks for the info. I'll just have to take whatever deduction NCRS imposses. Three of the five pieces of glass in my 66 Vert have been replaced over the years. Any time I perform a ground up restoration I install new glass if its available. The deductions for the replacement date coded glass can't be that much?
