Default 62 Engine Performance Help Needed

After replacing all electrical components (plugs, wires, rotor, points, condenser, cap, coil) and setting dwell and timing, I still have what feels like a miss at all speeds but more noticeable at 35-40 mph. Carb seems Ok.
I'm at a loss...
Any thoughts on a solution would be appreciated...

A few possibilities with out knowing the engine internals. Crossed plug wires. 5 and 7, or a wire dropped off the plug, it happens to me more frequent than I like. Or maybe extended reach plugs that the gap has been closed by the piston dome if it`s a high compression engine.

Thanks for the response....crossed wires definitely not the issue. Engine is 300HP so is high performance. Odd thing is that idle seems smooth and at full throttle, engine runs extremely strong. I'm thinking maybe a fuel pump issue at lower consistent throttle and RPM. Anyone agree that may be the issue?

Nope - a consistent miss is normally either valvetrain or ignition-related. Check dwell and timing, plug wires, plugs, cap and rotor first, and move on from there.

In addition to the above suggestions try swapping the coil. Coils are sneaky about going open/short with engine temp.
Check the dist shaft side play for excessive clearence. A sloppy shaft will make the points gap go away. A dwell meter will show a wandering dwell setting. Had a Corvair that would start, idle and free rev with no problem untill you drove it, then it would fall on its face and refuse to pull the car in anything but low gear.

Default Know your enemy

If you have a steady miss while stationary (even if you have to hold it at fast idle), pull off the plug wires at the cap one at a time. Try this until you can tell which cylinders don't cause the engine to slow when their wires are disconnected.

Identifying which cylinders are laying down is just the start, of course. Then you can go on to compression checks, adjusting the valves, watching the timing light on those holes, etc. to find out what is causing them to be weak.

I recently went through a similar experience and found a couple of problems after tearing everything apart---I had a worn cam lobe (down 1/8") and a stuck piston ring.
