Default 63 Carpet Install Tips Needed

Tried to find a tech document out there but so far no luck.

I've got the new carpet for my 63 all laid out in the car and it looks great. Everything, after working it a bit, seems to fit quite well (Al Knoch).

The biggest problem I see in sizing things up is the clumping of carpet in the corners where the convertible top and covers mount and in the back by the springs. Other than that, seems like a straight forward thing.

It also looks pretty much like the rear panel (right behind the seats) gets installed last and over the top of the front carpet pieces. However, that will also leave some slack where the console goes.

So a couple of fine details and I'm on my way.

Thanks!

ps: For the rear fenderwell pieces do you put adhesive on the back of the carpet/jute where the carpet lays on top of the lower piece? Or just where it attaches to the body?

Default 1963 carpet install

I just came in from the garage after installing new carpet in my 63 SWC. The back is done, now on to the front. I've not added the adhesive to the carpet foam back where it lays on the underlying carpet. So far it looks ok. Biggets lesson is to gets lots of the 3M adhesive. I finished off 2 cans already and have to wait till tomorrow to get more.
