The company I work for is all about cheesy recognition so I won this stupid bear. Smokey the bear to be exact -- you know....for preventing forest fires at work. We have to take picture of ourselves with this bear for the "Smokey Wall of Fame" and they are supposed to reflect something about you. So, since I have no kids, I snapped a pic with the '65. I didn't actually win the bear- had to send it to the next winner. Please promise me that if you manage people in your professional lives that you don't do stuff like this. I would have preferred a handshake.

Brian, You look happy that you are passing Smokey on to the next winner, although Smokey seems a little remorsed that he has to move on to the next winner. Whoever came up with that idea should have their picture taken Smokey each month and have it posted in a conspicious place at work.

I'd bet your employer paid big bucks to some "Motivational Consultant" for that brilliant idea; he probably just paid cash for a C6

Brian, we are so very proud of you and your accomplishments!

I'd bet your mom would put that picture up on her fridge and brag about you to anyone who would listen . . . "that's my Brian with the Bear his company awarded JUST TO HIM for being the best IN THE COMPANY at not starting any fires . . ."

Brian,

If I remember correctly who you work for (we are doing some work for them right now in the northwest and it is mis-managed), I am surprised that they are supporting such a "cheesey" promotion. They have the bucks to do something more professional.

YES, Your company should be more professional, and do stuff like my company does...

ABSOLUTELY NUTHIN!!!!!

Probably a good thing, because I've learned "that no good deed ever goes unpunished"!

The company "underground" should kidnap the bear and send back pictures of its travels around the country.

Was tired when I first opened this thread - had a couple snorts of 'Hot Damn' with the neighbor . .. For some reason I thought I read 'Smokey and the Bandit' (was on the tube recently) .. At first a flash went thought my mind that maybe you won the Trans Am, or something .. ! . . . .
Jeez .. To think that movie was made a loooong time ago . . Jackie Gleason - one of the all time greats. What a crack-up .. ! . .
Back to the real 'Smokey' .. Too bad the company didn't see fit to reward you guys with something more tangible (gift certificate) .. A Smokey the bear works for little kids, but .. ? ..

Default Good Beer

Great pic and that's a cool hat (your hat, not Smokey's). The New Belgium Brewery is close to us here in Colorado. Fat Tire is among the CCC favorites.
