Can anyone recommend a decent generator shop for rebuild in or around metro atlanta?

I dont know the distance from Atlanta to Augusta but John Pirkle is a name that comes to mind. www.johnpirkle.com

Virtually any auto electric shop can rebuild your generator and return it to you in a day. Cost around here is about $75-80. If you don't want it stripped and painted, tell them up front to just do the mechanical part and leave the cosmetics alone.

Most shops will also replace the old open bearings (if they're still there) with modern sealed bearings so you don't have to fiddle with oiling the "gits" cap oiler tubes any more.
