Hi all, I purchased a 59 vette in the past few months and am about to have some work done over the winter (thats a long time in minnesota!).
The person who is going to do some work has not worked on vettes this old. MY QUESTION is
I will need a lot of "parts"
(carpet, seat belts, sun visors, rubber, emergency brake, wipers,.... quite a few more.)
98% of the dealers purchase 98% of the parts from the same supplies, and 98% charge the same price. Take your pick of the one who seems to appreciate your business the most. I've purchased most items from Corvette Central & Dr. Rebuild - never had an issue with either
I've pretty much settled on Paragon for both my '60 and '66 parts. They give a 10-15% discount if you tell them you're starting a restoration, and havn't screwed up an order yet.

I've done a lot of business with Eckler's and Zip and never had a complaint. Shipping to Hawaii sucks though.
I have been satisfied with Paragon and Corvette Central. Both keep you updated on when the parts are shipped. I have also had no problems with returns for either. I would agree that there is a lot of crossover between suppliers and that the prices are pretty close.
I just received a Year One catalog (it's free)-it's one of the nicest I've seen.
I like to support Paragon, since they are local, throw a nice corvette show every year with shop tour, and they will go out of their way to help you out. Like Gary said, they hook you up with a discound as well.
