I've been getting more and more waves lately. The funniest wave I've gotten was a few years ago. I was driving the 57' and my father was behind me in a 62'. We roll up to a light and there is a 58' and a C5 coming the other way. The 58 guy doesn't even look at us and the C5 guy is hanging outa the car waving and giving It all comes down to enthusiasts and just owners of Corvettes. Thers nOOb's in all generations.
When I was at Carlisle in Aug. we were inside eating at Wendy's when a young kid came in and asked very politely " Is that your Vette out there ? " My first thought was oh crap someone hit it, but he said he was driving by and saw it and just had to stop and check it out
Said he had to find the owner and tell him what an awesome car
He was driving a hopped up 300ZX. So I guess all is not lost for the younger generation.
BTW, I have a C2 and a C4 And I wave to all generation's (a Vette is a Vette). Many wave back (enthusiasts) some don't (??)
When driving any of my Corvettes, I always wave at other Vettes. When my wife is along she gets miffed if the other driver is female. I tried to explain that it is proper to wave at other Vette drivers regardless of gender, that its really the Corvette, not the driver that matters. She doesn't understand.
