Can anybody confirm where the locations of each of the copper braided ground straps should be on my 65? I had one by the driver's side motor mount (frame to block)and a broken one on the center of the crossmember (did the other end of this ground mount to the trans?) Were there more than two?

Assume you have radio equipped car w/undercar exhaust ... the remnants you found are from braided copper ground straps (2) attached at one end to the center crossmember (in holes on front, self-tapping screws + star washers) & the other end to the outboard leg of the exhaust pipe clamp.
Thanks Ron but I can't make out everything on the diagram. I see the motor mount strap but I don't know where the others are? None on the crossmember by the trans?

Try blowing the diagram up to about 150%. Then find the ground straps in the itemized listing, use the number in the listing to locate the strap in the diagram.
You need a '65 Corvette Assembly Manual - the book that showed the factory guys how to put the car together - a "must-have"; you can order one from any of the vendors, or from the NCRS on-line store at www.ncrs.org. While you're there, order a '63 Corvette Shop Manual and the 1965 Supplement - those two books will answer 90% of your questions.
