Default Easily Identify differences between '65, '66, '67

If anyone out there has any tips on how to quickly ID a '65 from a '66

Please clue me in.

I would like pix if possible -

the main difference is the mesh grill?

so if there is a '65 and a '66 rolling down the road at 40 MPH - can you tell immediately which is the '65?

Were there hubcap differences? - But then - what if both have knock off wheels? - I guess I am trying to find out body styling differences.

Rocker moldings - is this a big difference?

The '67 should be pretty easy to see (stripped down) - and the '64 (no vents on the hood) from the '63 is very easy as well..........

OK

any info will be greatly appreciated.

Also I usually notice if there is script on the hood. No script on 65 script on a 66.. The Hubcaps are different as is the gas door and the seats. Other than what's been posted above by Jason and what I've posted is about it... It is hard to tell a 65 from a 66 at speed but but a lot of times it's hard to tell them apart on the road b/c you only see them for a split second when they pass you going the other way... Dave..

The original grill on a 65 was blacked out where the 66 and 67 is grey. The 65 and 66 have 3 gills on the side fenders, the 67 has 5. The "Corvette StingRay" emblem on the rear of the 65 is slanting script, the ones on the 66 and 67 have a more upright script. The 66 (only) has the same rear emblem on the front drivers side of the hood. The 65 and 66 share the same big block hood with a bulge, the 67 has the stinger hood on it. The 65 has 4 red rear lights, the 66 has 2 red outer and two white (back-up) inner lights, the 67 has 4 red lights and an upper white light over the license plate. The 65 cuope has two vents between the front and rear windows, the 66 and 67 have none. The inside of gas filler door is painted the same color as the body on 67s.

Things I look for:

1965: 3 vertical vents in front fender, Hubcaps look smaller diameter with a 6 spoke look, If KO's, cones shiny chrome, Maybe goldlines, maybe 1" ww, No hood script, Rear deck script is slanted. Grille horizontals are black. Possible all red tail lights, Rocker mouldings larger area shiny with about 1" black inset under the raised ridge, If it's a coupe, will have the vents on the B pillar. Gas lid difference on all.

1966: 3 vertical vents in front fender, Hubcaps look larger than 65 with a 5 spoke look. If KO's, cones brushed look, Maybe goldlines, maybe 3/8" ww, Hood script, Rear deck script straight, Grille mesh edges chromed like the surround, Inboard back up tail lights clear, Rocker mouldings horizontal fins shiny with black inset. If it's a coupe, will have smooth B pillar. Gas lid difference in all.

1967: Clean sides with no emblems, front fender 5 slanted vents, no hood emblem. ralley wheels or aluminum bolt on wheels with no spinner, Maybe redlines, maybe 3/8" ww, Grille same as 66, rear backup lamps above license plate, Rocker mouldings more black than shiny area. Maybe a stinger hood. Gas lid painted.

DISCLAIMER: That is if the cars are all correct, some have 66 grilles on 65's, hood emblems on 65's and 67's, ralleys on 65-66, stinger hoods on 65-66, etc, etc, etc.
