Interior Dye Question
I am about to redye my 67 dash. It is black and I am just freshening it up with new black dye. The whole dash is out of the car and I plan to spray it as a unit. I know that I need to prep the center hard surface portion with a primer. Is there anything else I should know about before I start? This dash is the original unit in great shape, just a little faded.

For the best job you need to remove the pads from the frame and then paint the frame with a semi-flat paint like Krylon semi-flat. Then dye the pads with a proper vinyl product like SEM dye. On the pads be sure to get them very clean, and use an adhesion aid like the SEM product or Bulldog. If you try to paint both pads and frames as a unit you will end up with something that doesn't look original.
