Default 58 Vette

Does anyone have an original motor in their 58 vette with a build date in the first quarter of 58? If so what is the casting date on your block? Is it late 57 or into 58?

Thanks,
Chris

Don't have the original engine, but have #100206, which was produced in the first week of production. Jim Gessner or John Z would be the best source.....

May 2 block casting, May 13 engine assembly, and approximately a May 21 car build date.

Although NCRS gives full credit for a casting date up to six months prior to the car's final assembly date, 2-6 weeks is more "typical" of production.

My car was built Jan. 27th 1958. Motor cast Dec. 11th 1957 and assembled Dec. 12th 1957.
