Default Trim Tag authenticity and decoding

Hi, I would appreciate some help decoding a trim tag. I am not able o attach a picture of it but it reads:

DETROIT MICHIGAN
F05
STYLE 67 467 S4311 BODY
TRIM 402AA 974AA PAINT

BODY BY CHEVROLET

I have a picture of it but am unable to upload onto Corvette Forum, but could e-mail it to you to get your opinion on its authenticity. The car is a 67 BB, red with black interior, black convertible top, vin#194677S107414, stamp date on engine is J 26 6. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

F05 = Jan 5
67 467 = 67 corvette convertable
S4311 = 4311 convertable body built in St. Luis
402AA = black leather (the AA is an ECL code, Noland adams lists them)
974AA = ralley red
Body by Cheverolet = Body by Cheverolet

No red flags there

Im not a BB person but I think J 26 6 is Oct 26, 66 That sounds a little early but within standards.

Tonowanda block cast date code use a 2-digit year identifier, so that cast date is Oct 2, 1966.

Hi, Thank you for the help with the trim code. If you don't mind would you please explain F05 being Jan. 5th, I thought the F would be June. That seems along way in advance of an engine built in October 66 and a car produced, by the serial#, sometime in January 67. Also how can you tell the engine is from Towanda. The trim tag on the car just looks too nice, maybe I'm just cynical but nowadays you have to be. Do you know what letters on the glass to check for authenticity? Thanks again for you help, Terry

F in this case is the sixth month of production. They started building 67's in Aug. 66, so that would be A, and so on.

ALL big blocks came from Tonawanda NY. What's stamped on the stamp pad? Chuck

Tonawanda big-block casting dates use single digits for the year; their small-block casting dates use the 2-digit scheme for the year. A J 26 6 date code on a big-block would be October 26, 1966.
