I recently sold my 63 SWC, the thing that bothered me the most is that a lot of the 63 SWC had one year only parts, such as: the "cookie tins" on the hood, the parking brake, the forward exhaust hanger, the glove box door, the console, the rear windows and trim, the shifter, the clutch rod, the bell housing, and the worst to find parts for was the one year only windshield trim..... Other than that it was a fun car.... good luck and welcome....

For finding parts, Long Island Supply was good, as was Corvette Central and Dr. Rebuild.....

Add Paragon, Al Knoch Interiors, Quanta Products, Van Steel (suspension) and Zip Products to that list of vendors.

I have used Long Island, Corvette Central, Zip, and Keen Corvette - all seem to be good sources. EBVette had the best plan (his surplus). Achapman is right - 63 parts are more expensive than some other years. I replaced the gas cover on my SWC earlier this year (my car is a 63 Early, which equates to even more money for certain items).

Good luck with your restoration - the guys on this site will help you through some tough spots.

Those little pieces really add up, especially on a '63. Ask my wallet how I know.

Yep, me too.

And I never learn. I don't know how much $$$ I've wasted chasing hard-to-find parts on eBay and on the Internet only to receive unusable crap.

-- And what makes it worse is when the part I already have is better than the one I bought.

Fortunately, (finally), I think I've rounded up nearly all the stuff I was missing and I can concentrate on restoring the car and all the little parts.

For all the chrome and trim I still need I'll get new reproductions and go with that.

Do you still have anything left? I am looking for some cookie sheets and headlite motors. Thanks!

That is a 17 year old post, Welcome to the 63 club. There are parts around , but have suffered the inflation and rarity tax.
You should start your own thread and get current info.
