Well, i managed to find a couple of hours to get a little work done this weekend. Should have the differential back from getting overhauled once again sometime next week. Then i just need to finish assembling the a arms and powdercoating the oil pan and everything should slap together pretty quickly.
The shims have holes in one side and slots in the other. Due to past experience with them falling out while driving when i used the slotted side i now use the side with the holes.
If you use the cotter pin and drill the frame you will not have problems with the shims falling out. It will make your alignments much easier and your alignment shop will like you much more. The cotter pin will keep the shims from falling out... Dave..
Looking great! That frame really looks good, and you really got your money worth on that job. I was glad to finally hear of a place that has a large enough tank to E-coat car frames, and the willingness to do it.
The powder coat is nice, but the E-coat is what is really going to make that frame last! There is just no substitute for completely coating the inside of the entire chassis! I agree on the shims too, your alingment guy will be cussing you for putting them in like that.
