I believe that's the one that sold at Barrett-Jackson for 100k. First guy that bought it ended up being a non-registered bidder (or at least that's what they annouced when they re-ran it through). Second time around it seemed like it might go higher but BJ called it sold the second it hit 100k again. That at least covered their buts for accepting bids from non-registered bidders.

I saw it from a aways away. Looked like the guy did an incredible job.

The one at Barrett-Jackson was built by a friend of mine, Ron B. from Saltsburg, Pa. He took a wrecked '57 Vette & built HIS idea of what the Corvette Nomad would have looked like if the one that was introduced with the roadster had also been made available for sale.
Someone in Off Topic was at B-J & posted a lot of pics, one of which was Ron's '57. I downloaded it into my files. My wife & I chose it to be the T-Shirt/Dash Plaque car for the 2002 annual charity Cruise that we "ram-rod"

I think it's awesome. My wife found that site a few months ago and sent it to me. The Corvette Nomad is pretty much her dream car!

Imagine that as a super cool daily driver for her........ a cool looking street rod, with lots of room for groceries, to carry the dog, or just to cruise around in.
A big enough motor in it and it would also make a cool tow vehicle for the other vettes!

Love the car - but I would have guessed the seller had at least $150k-$200k in it. I hope he at least drove it for a while.

I saw a black one driving in the Seattle area, and saw it again at the Goodguy's show in Puyallup.

Thought it was a pretty cool car.

I have heard the name. Does he have quite a collection of cars? Thought I saw a GT40 with his name on it also, as well as a '68 Camaro Z28 and '63 Z06, that he and his Wife run in Vintage Races.

Tom is an avid vintage racer and has an immaculate collection. I have not seen his whole collection but I've seen him and his wife Susan racing at the SOVREN events many times. Susan races a 63 Z06 and Tom usually races his immaculate "real" Grand Sport and and gorgeous Lola T162 Can-Am car.

Enjoy

Tom sold his Grand Sport (#003) last year for a little over $4M.
