This is a pic of the tag on my diff. My car is a 65 and the rear axle has drum brakes. Is it safe to draw the conclusion that my 65 has a 63 or 64 axle on the rear?
Fyi: front has disk brakes. The back of the body shows no sign of damage happended in the past (only a recent damage ).

There was a few 65's that had drum brakes, but none that had disk and drum. I suggest you check the VIN number under the glove box, then check for the frame VIN. Just above the rear tire on the drivers side, using a small mirror you should be able to see the VIN number on the frame. You may have to do some cleaning and scraping, but once you find it you should be able to compare the numbers to see if indeed the frame replaced in the past.... Good Luck.....

The ratio code and assembly date is stamped on the bottom of the diff housing, between the spring retainer plate and the camber strut rod bracket; take a look and tell us what letters/numbers you see there.
