Default Paging Dave McDufford

hello,

i'm curious about the performance of your car, and how it is set up, after reading Dukes posts about the dyno numbers.

i had the LT-1 in my 64 327-365 and wasn't impressed, it had the typical close ratio gears and 3.70.. it ran good, but I always thought that it was mildly bland.

i eventually switched to an overported set of heads and a roller cam, and the performance is better, but not what I'd expect.

i now have the car setup with 2.5 stainless chambered system, the motor is fresh and the distributer is setup correctly (when it wasn't before either)

i want a cam with a good idle, but would like to have the ability to actually break the tires loose if i want to in 1st gear. the LT-1 never did that before... although i think that the old motor and distributor could have been suspect.. not to mention the exhaust system.

Ultimately, i'd like to know how your car is setup (gearing, trans, exhaust etc.)

and what happens if you ease it off the line till about 2000-2500 and then hammer the throttle... will she break em; loose?

thanks

aaron
