Default Headers

I have been looking for Headers to work with my 67 Convertible in which I am putting a 572 with Tremec TKO 600. The car uses sidepipes and I will probably go for the bigger GNM pipes described by others previously.

I have found two suppliers who appear to have headers for this application: 1) Sanderson BB5 and Stahl 216's. Has anyone had any experience with either of these vendors or these Headers?

Not with them,
I have the Headman headers on my BB with sidepipes. I modified the sidepipes my self and fitted them to the headers, nice fit and not too much of a problem fitting. Just take your time, check the fit often, weld once.
Covers cover nice.

my .02¢

Had excellent luck with Hedman. No issues at all. Matched up to the side pipes perfect. Make sure to get the ceramic coated ones. You won't be sorrry.

When I talked to Headman they said they have nothing that would fit. Do you remember the Headman Part Number by chance?

The 572 is the tall deck, right? That's why the regular BB side exhaust headers won't fit.

Got to add another header question...any recommended company besides Hedman? Looking for a smaller tube size BB header than their 2 inch (regular duals out the back).
Thanks!!

I have headers on my Corvette..I bought it this way...I have to do maintaince (plastic twisty ties)so the wires arent hitting the headders and also the negative and positive cables..also making contact ...I also wrapped up the starter with a protective mat or cloth to reduce heat...Sometime I have problems starting Corvette when its HOT outside..

I have some 21/2 inch ram horn exhaust dumps I will eventually put on when I get the rest of my exhaust system...

I am waiting to replace until my current one needs replacing!

I have a 66 Coupe original small block car. As I have posted before I tried Sanderson block huggers center dump headers but they hit my steering box on the driverside. Passenger side was OK. I could have peened a small dimple in the tube and made it fit but I looked elswhere. I found a Patriot block hugger center dump header that fit just fine. I have a zz383 stroker from GM in the car. We then fabricated the sidepipes to meet up with the center dump headers. I used the ceramic coated model and they are great.

I did talk to Stainless directly after you looking at the pictures of the 67 Jerry is doing and they told me I would have to bring my car to Cleveland which is not realistic. They do look great on the engine and I am leaving for Florida early next week and will try to drop in at Jerry's shop to see how he is progressing.

I use The Sanderson Headers BB-5's on my 502. I was refered to them by Rich Lagsee who also used them on his Award Winning 67 Custom 502 Corvette which appeared in quite a few Vette mags.

I belive the 572 uses the same head as the 502. Correct me if I'm wrong. Sanderson will work with you to make sure the headers fit. Call them and explain what your doing ....They will fab up a set of Uncoated headers for you and send them out. Then you test fit them and let them know what has to be changed. Once they fit to your satisfaction ..they will coat them and send them back to you.

Here are some pic's of the headers after the final fit on my 65..
