8.82 @ 152 in a 64 Chevelle Super Gas....970 hp destroked 427 comp engine, pglide with 5500 stall, and 6:14 gears...shifted at 9200 rpm....2400# car....and pretty wild ride....was one of few times i ran it all the way thru....dragsters hated me,,,was running same mph as they were.....street car was 65 goat, that ran 13.2 pretty regularly at 3800 ft elevation
Thanks! That annual event is a BLAST! Donny Brasso I'm sure will chime in here and attest to this. He and I go head to head the last couple of years. He is "squeaky clean" stock!! and runs real hard. His is a very pristine '66.
My 1970 Chevelle SS used to run 12.7s @ 109-110 at KCIR.
My 59 has done a best of 103 MPH with ETs all over the place at LACR (2700' elevation). The thing couldn't 60' for crap. The C5 vettes were only knocking down 99 - 101 MPH that day. This was done with an oil burning, pinging 350, with unknown cam, nicely ported 186 heads, original T10, and a 3.23 geared Oldsmobile rear end. Staying in second gear dropped my MPH into the 101-101.5 range.
From: One thing is for sure this kind of discourse and BS would not be tolerated on the NCRS forum. Ohio

Its nice to em' still out there where they belong fighting the good fight. I miss seeing them at the track. Even the 1 gen Camaros and Mustangs are starting to dwindle.
I got some good pics from Paul too. I mixed them in with my Vintage
drag pics and use them as a screen saver. I've had customers actually mesmerized watching them on my laptop.
1961 Vette.522 " Merlin Block, fuel injected with menthanol.I've been running the car for the last 37 years, and still having a ball. 8.90's in the quarter mile.
