I.D. of intake and heads on NOM '66
I know the motor in my '66 roadster is from a '65 - '67 Chevelle.
Can you tell me anything about the intake and heads?
Intake : has 8890490 on rear of intake. It also has a 'W' cast into it in
the front P.S. It is an alumninum intake, dual plane.
Heads: I peeked under the valve cover this morning. I found these numbers:
3782418 with what looked like I125 underneath it. Other than that, I saw
GM 12
Any help much appreciated.

I think you'll find that the intake number starts with a "3", not an "8"; 3890490 was used on '66-'67 Corvette and Chevy II 327/350hp. I don't show any production usage for the 3782418 cylinder head casting number - may be a service-only part.

Thanks John, I'll take a closer look at the numbers tonight. I thought that the previous owner rebuilt the current Chevelle motor using whatever he could from the original Vette motor. So the fact that the intake is original wouldn't surprise me. I think the heads may be as well.
