how do you like the ride w/this combo? think of putting same setup on a 66 coupe I'm working on.
I originally got the 460# front and 330# rear in the suspension kit I bought. It also came with Bilstein Sport shocks. I know there are allot of guys here running that setup but it was way too stiff for me. My car is a driven every weekend as main transportation, not raced. The spring rates seemed unbalanced to me, harder in the rear. The rear of the car hopped over bumps rather than absorbing them. I called Gary at VBP and he sent me a 300# rear. It is actually a 285#. Apparently there is a range of spring rates that are considered equal to the specified rate. My original 330# was actually a 320# so he went on the light side for the 300#. Make sense? The car was much better balanced spring rate wise but the ride was still too firm for me. I replaced the Sports with Koni adjustables and I am happier with them. I am still messing with the dampening rate so I hesitate to comment too much on their ride only to say it is much better, to me, than the sports. I wish now I would have heeded Duke's advise and started with the suspension rebuild and a good set of shocks first. I have the feeling that would have satisfied my desire for a better ride and better handling for a street car for a whole lot less money.
