my distributor has no vacuum advance?
Hi Guys,
I purchased a 63 with 327 and 300 horse. This is my first C2 and everything looked stock but I find I have a duel point distributor that has no vacuum advance on it. It is a tach drive and appears to be of the correct vintage. Any ideas on how it works without vacuum advance and what it may belong to.
Thanks,John

If the distributor you have has an external point adjustment type (window cap) its probably a 1111985. It has a tach drive, dual points and was used on 62 C-1s w. 340 HP. The distributor used on 63 C-2s w. 250-300 -340 Hp is 1111024. You can make a 1111024 clone with any 63-73 tach drive distributor. Get a good core and recurve it it to your engines specs.(new weights springs and autocam)

I agree with the above, it sounds like a a 62 ONLY 985 340 dist.
As mentioned, at one time, they were the hot setup for lots of Chevy engines. I have one I can't get rid of. Of course, for originality on a 62 with the 340hp/327, that's the one to have. But, for today's practicality, driveability and fuel economy, they are not the most ideal.
