I have a 66 coupe with an intermittent brake problem. It centers around the rear wheel on the passengers side. It almost sounds like the brake is hanging up or grabbing. I can hear a dull roar at times that slows as I begin to stop. I have not been able to find the problem and neither has a local Corvette shop.
So far I have replaced the rubber brake line on that wheel and changed the brake fluid. The Corvette shop pulled the wheel down and turned the rotor. They also coated the brake pads with something to reduce the noise. However, this sound is not a brake squeek, it is more like a grind. The Corvette shop said that everything looks fine but within a few days of getting my Vette back, the noise has appeared again. The owner of the shop told me he doesn't know what else to do. I am hoping that someone on the forum might be able to help me. I have some long distance trips to do this spring and summer but I want to fix this problem first.
