Default Convertible top support brackets
On my 66 the convertible top bolts to the metal plates on the car. These plate bolt holes are tapped to allow the bolt to screw into it. On both plates the treads are stripped out. Is there a way to get them out and replace them. Trying to put nuts on the back to tighten the bolt is a bear with my fat fingers.

Why don't you tap them to the next larger diameter?
