Going to order these American Racing wheels, but need to know all specifications. I would like to get 17" wheels.... what backspacing, width, bolt pattern, offset, tire size do I need to order? my car is a stock '66 convertible....
use search. there are countless posts on wheel sizes. you will also find very important information on tire sizes with it. take the time, it is here. those are nice wheels, manufacturer should also be able to help on offsets. bolt pattern is easy.
a number of corvette forum members with stock suspension and stock trailing arms use 17x7 with 4" BS and 225-45-50-55-series 17's...depends on a several things. I personally would try 225-50-17's...look and measure carefully.
I have 17x7's and 17x8's on mine...but I am not totally stock
If that's the style you like here's a couple more places to order similar wheels, most of them have easy directions on how to get the correct size/backspacing;
I currently have American Racing on my 63 GSR but want to switch to a more vintage look, you could also contact PS Engineering 2675 Skypark Drive Torrance, CA 90505 (310) 534-4477 (no web site) as they make the similar style rims for Grand Sport replicas but from what I've been told only in a 15" size.
Your bolt pattern is 5 x 4-3/4"; be sure and give them that when you order, as 99% of those AR wheels are made for Cobras, with a Ford bolt pattern (different than GM).
