Hi, I have read that C2 corvette kit cars have been made, but were discontinued due to legal reasons but would it be possible to make one on your own using restoration parts? Possibly, using a C3 frame?
Sorry if this is a very stupid and obvious question but I wanted a definite answer.
No, b/c nobody makes the tub section. Even if they did you would end up with more money in the kit than if you just bought a non original midyear and completely restored it.
The kits that were made looked like absolute a$$.

A repro C2 kit car package used to be sold by the "Nice Car Company" that went on a shortened "A"-body frame, and it was JUNK - they show up on eBay occasionally. Several outfits make C2 coupe race car bodies, but they're just an outer shell, with no floorpan, dash, birdcage, etc. - strictly for Pro-Mod drag cars, etc.
The "tub" as it was called here is referring to the birdcage and fiberglass associated with the floorpan, firewall, door jambs, and rear inner compartment. The birdcage being mad of metal, the rest fiberglass.
Here's a tub. I started on this POS several years ago and after about what seemed to be a billion hours of labor and 3,000 in fiberglass i sold it for a loss. I was very happy to see it go even though I had made it whole again. I won this beut by bidding on ebay after having a few beers by the pool one saturday-oops!!! BTW, a middle section like this without a VIN will cost you around 2,000. Or at least that is what i paid several years ago for this. Trust me, just buy a running NOM for around 20-25,000-you will be much happier and suffer less injuries and headaches. First hand experience speaking!

I saw one on ebay a few weeks ago. It looked good untill you looked at the windshield and noticed the angle was wrong. (not enough rake) The interior was bad too. I cant remember what chassis it had. About a year ago I saw another one on ebay that was built on a VW bug chassis. It looked horrible for one thing but how could any self respecting human start that thing up in public with a horizontaly opposed, air cooled four banger in it.
