C1 Brakes - Dual Cyliners/axle Keeper
Does any one recommend the dual master cylinder for a C1??? I am sticking with 4 drums as previously recommended - but need a new cylinder. Also, does anyone recommend the best source for a dual cylinder. Finally, I can't find a source for the square metal axle "keeper" that holds in the rear axle's to the brake backing plate. I see the gaskets in number of sources, but not the plate. Mine were pretty rusted and I'd rather not remount them if I don't have to.
Thanks

I have a set of C1, no rust complete axle assemblies left over from the 12 bolt rear end install.
What are a couple axle assemblies worth? I don't need these anymore.

I just bought this dual MC from ECI
http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/remot..._cylinder.html
Direct fit and slopes down to clear the hood. Looks good in the box I just havent gotten around to installing it yet.
I'm also putting on their front disc conversion. Everybody has their own opinion, and maybe my drums arent adjusted exactly right but every once in a while when you need them the most in a panic situation they pull one way or the other. I drive a lot and dont need the worries.

Regardless of what a few C1 owners say, drum brakes work for beans! In a C1 caravan you never let a drum brake C1 car get behind you or at the first light change they will run right through you!

Doug, Sorry I misunderstood you. Let me try some of the other sources listed first as I believe the shipping on the axles will be too expensive.

Dang John, how the hell'd we ever live through the fifties and sixties with our drum brakes? Guess we never experienced some *** wipe with discs locking them up at the first light change.
I like the picture of the back of your black C-1. That's the reason I own one.
Best Regards,
Ralph
