How to Rebuild Your Small-Block Chevy?
by David Vizard?
I will obviously be getting help from the mechanic down the block - but before we start working on this stuff - I at least wanna know WHERE the sending unit is for my temp guage..........
I wanna know what all is involved in changing out the plugs and wires.......
you get my drift here?
ok
I look forward to any responses.
The Vizard book is excellent, and has become the "standard" book for learning about small-block Chevys; also recommend the GM Chassis Service Manual and Chassis Overhaul Manual for your year car, plus the Assembly Instruction Manual.
Why not get the reprint of the GM Chassis Service Manual for your car? Most places have them and it gives everything you need to know how to work on your car. If you really want to know where it is and how it went together, buy the Assembly Instruction Manual, it is a detailed drawing of the major components and their location, torque values, assembly sequence. If you don't have a good source for these, go to www.ncrs.org, click on the store logo, find your year and order away. You can call them too and you will find that they are very helpful, whether you are a NCRS member or not.
Of course, any mechanic worth his salt knows about Chevy V8s.
