I installed a GM Crate Motor, ZZ4 in my '61. Swap to a short water pump if needed, add plug wires, fuel pump, carburetor, etc. You have a new engine that has a nice torque curve and plenty of power for a C1.
This motor has aluminum heads and compression is 10:1. 355 hp. I used an 800 cfm Edelbrock, heard the 650 cfm was not quite enough and the 800 made the engine come alive. I think it seems to be plenty .
Shipping was reasonable and no problem. They also have several fully configured packages that are drop in installs it sounds like.
