Did a "Google" search for C1 registry and got one hit and that was for a Dutch registry. I'm trying to help a friend do his "due diligence" on a '57 that he is interested in purchasing. He has no "hard" data on the car however, and is suspicious of what the current owner - who says he found the car in a barn in Canada - says. The VIN is E57S1004226. Our New Mexico MVD says that they need seventeen characters to do a title search, so that's no help. Can anyone help?
That vin you posted is for a 1957. The 17 digit vin started I believe in the 1980's. Pretty hard to find info on cars that are 50 years old and have been moved from state to state or to province. Good Luck.
Every good car needs an intriguing story to capture the buyers interest and raise the price. A story is still a story.... the vin tag, title, and frame numbers are the facts.
It seems like I have the identical problem here in California. The DMV
is asking for 17 digits.
I am in the process of submitting an inquiry form that cost $5 just to see if the VIN number I took from the frame is registered anywhere in this state.
I have emailed Ken Kayser, but as of yet, have no response.
