Default Headlight Motor Question?

I just pulled apart my Headlight motors and cleaned everything up nice and tidy. I noticed when I put it all back together that there are two orifices that expose the gears or inward parts of the little gearboxes???

I looked at the one I have not yet done, and it is the same way. I searched all the best parts lists I could find but can not find any rubber plugs. Shouldn't there be something there to keep crap out of those little gear boxes...like some kind of plugs???

I'm having a hard time visualizing the holes you are describing.

Can you post a picture? I just rebuilt mine and can't remember holes other than the holes for the mounting screws, and I do know I didn't have rubber plugs anywhere.

Nope, no plugs. Being up under the nose fiberglass protects them from the elements.

Not a very impressive design for a gearbox now is it?

I got one. Thru these holes you can plainly see the gears exposed to the elements. Note to self.....do not drive in the rain!!

Yup, those are the holes I was referring too. Sure seems odd that they'd be open???

Thanks Guys for confirming my worst fears.
