Getting attention
He was busy welding up some parts and I stood patiently waiting for him to finish. When he did, he turned toward me and listened as I explained what I was looking for. My back was to the door I walked in and when I finished, he motioned behind me and asked if it was like that everywhere I went. Not understanding what he was talking about, I turned to see at least a dozen guys standing around my vette, some looking inside, some looking underneath, and just generally inspecting from one end to the other!
Turns out I passed a body shop next door where they were doing a body off restoration of another mid year and saw me go by. So between them and the workers in the shop I was standing in, the car was getting a thorough inspection!
I laughed and said it wasn't usually quite like that, but the car did get it's share of attention. I told the guys looking at it to open the doors to look inside and pop the hood too if they wanted.
When it was all said and done, I got a lot of nice comments and compliments and drove away feeling quite happy that I choose to drive it every chance I get.
You should get a lot of attention with that great looking Vette.
I'll bet those guys at the body shop were wondering if the Vette they were working on would ever look as good as yours. BTW, your front bumper is missing. Maybe the guys at the body shop took it for their job. Just kidding.
Love the look without the bumper.Dave
...... I told the guys looking at it to open the doors to look inside and pop the hood too if they wanted. .......
These cars bring back memories for them as well (I recall pressing my own nose against the side window of a 66, and drooling ... back in the of 1965).
