Default Striker plate rivets

I am replacing my deck lid striker plates. The old ones were removed during the strip and repaint process. The problem now is I can't recall if the revit heads show from the top or are inserted from below. I have a friend with aircraft hand and pneumatic squeezers. Is that what is needed to do the job?

Those rivets are inserted so the original finished oval heads are visible, and the peened-over shank ends are not.

I am working on reattaching the deck lid striker plates on my 64 vert and am having trouble getting the top rivet set. I got the 2 on the side of the striker plate OK, but the drip rail/gutter is at such an angle I cant get my air gun and shank at the correct angle to get a good hit on the rivet...any tricks to doing this?

All and all help is appreciated...
