"Think about it--if it were original 427-435 horse, it could be worth $2,500,000!!!!!"
Even the "stupid money" bidders at B-J would think this guy is insane with that statement.
not mention that at the beginning of the description he mentions the car was originally a SB car........
maybe the airbrushing of the naked woman on the back makes it so valuable! Oh wait, we are on the internet here, we can get pictures of naked women for free.
Rahzip: HIGH? Yeah. High on hemi power. Grew up on Mopars before buying Corvettes. Having been priviliged to drive a 68 Roadrunner that was one of the 180 or so hemi 4 speeds built that year in the Roadrunner configuration I can never get enough of the hemi motor.
I have a friend with a 270 HP 60 Corvette here locally. Absolutely beautiful car. I told him when he passes on I am going to take his car, put a Hemi in it and drag it until I pass on myself. He really IS scared of this idea. (actually the only thing I would do with his car is put AC into it for comfort)
Looking at the pictures and noting the fuel line configuration I believe that thing between the scoop and the blower is the actual fuel delivery system. Looks to me like the fuel is delvered above and slammed down through the blower blades into the manifold and intake ports. No sequential injection systems back when that was designed and built.
Doug: IIRC that is a late 50's, early 60's motor. Like the 332 hemi you find it in cars, combines and on stationary industrial applications. Just like the 348 Chevy motors.
Let me rephrase that for you....
"That's a real piece .... period."
Sorry Rich,
That thing is just hard to look at, and even harder to believe that under that mess... was once a nice C2. Oh well, we can't all have the same taste in what looks good or bad.....that would make our hobby pretty boring.
