Does anyone know the paint code needed to paint the blue radio side panels for a Code 450 white /blue interior in 1966 ?
I've tried a couple of auto paint suppliers in the area and they have used a camera to analyze the current color and mixed up a pint for me but the color is too light and does not match my dash pads.
Any ideas ??
Thanks,
DFA

DFA,
Call these guys and see if they have what you need. I've been to their place of business and they have all the GM color formulas.
I used the Bright Blue spray Dye from Long Island corvette supply and it was a good match on the '66 Bright Blue Interior. They also have a Med Dark Blue Spray Dye for White/Blue Int. Firedog
According to my book, there was only one color of blue available in 1966, Dark Teal Blue. In 1967 there were 3 choices, Dark Teal Blue, Dark Bright Blue and Medium Bright Blue. Below are the DuPont paint code numbers for 1966.
* Requires addition of 2 oz. DuPont No. 4528 Flattening Compound to a pint of unreduced color to give accurate color match to factory original.
Maroon (flat) 9186LM*
Black (flat) 4466L
Dark Teal Blue (flat) 9283LH*
Dark Green (flat) 9187LH*
Medium Dark Saddle (flat) 9190LH*
Red (flat) 9188LM*
I have the paint codes for the other midyears ( interior and exterior) if anybody needs them.
That's odd. There were two distinctly different shades of blue for the Vette's interior in 1966: Bright Blue to match the exterior Nassau Blue, and Dark Blue to match the very dark Laguna Blue exterior.

If you are qouting from the Dobbins book[pg212], its an error of omission. Heck, just look at the chart on pg 213. There are loads of cars here on the forum with Brite Blue or Blue[Brite]/White interiors. The spray dye worked well for me too.
I purchased my 66, 427/425, side exhaust, new (still have it). The color is Nassau blue, wehich is a bright blue. I always assumed the interior was the same (has white seats).
So I can assure you Nassau blue was a correct 66 color.
