C-1 Speedometer needle removal

Hi. Great forum. Can anyone advise me on the best way to remove the speedometer needle on a c-1? I just picked up a well used speedo and need to install a new face on it. Thanks.

Just use your finger tips and pull it off.

slightly twist it counter clock wise and pull back while doing so.

I usually hold onto the shaft with a very small pair or needlenose pliers and then wind the needle counter clockwise.

By the way be careful. The shaft is easy to break....

Thanks to all who responded. I think I'll take it apart far enough to put a touch of Liquid Wrench on it for a few days to soak, then try the careful twist and pull counterclockwise method while holding the shaft with a small needlenose pliers.
