Another rusty birdcage.
The frame could be wiped to shiney metal with an oil rag.
During the resoration I find 2 areas of rust.
1. Under the carpet by the door sills, there are thin strips of metal that provide a smooth transition from the sill edge to the verticle part of the fiberglass - these were both rusted (likely from water making it's way into the car from rain).
2. When the front windshield was out - I had a minimal amount of rust and pitting along 3 inches of the birdcage along the horizontal component along the hood. This was an area where over the years, the weatherstripping had aged and allowed some water to creep into that area. Fortunately, it was small and an easy fix.
