Default Back up switch problem!

Does anyone have a diagram of how it is hooked up.
I have the bracket on but can't get the switch and post
to line up.

It looks like the photo below when it's installed, and the 2-wire pigtail (pink and green) that's part of the switch connects to a mating connector that comes through the firewall with the wiper motor wiring. The pink wire is switched 12V, and the green wire is power to the backup lights; the backup light switch is normally open, and closes (connecting the pink and green wires) when the trans is in reverse. It's all shown in the M20 section of the A.I.M.

Thanks John, We finally figured it out, it was the bar off of the swich we could not get right. We just had to bend it a little to make it fit.
But all is well I have reverse lights finally. Also got my new fan & shroud in, painted the radiator and fixed the cig lighter. Was a good
day. Now it's time for a couple cold ones.

If I recall correctly, there is a small hole in the switch bracket and a small hole in the arm on the switch that moves. If you line up the two holes and stick a small cotter pin or something in there, the switch itself will be properly lined up in the "open" position. Then fiddle the switch assembly around on the mounting bracket until the rod lines up with the hole on the shifter arm.
