Similar to the post of yesterday - my 65 silver pearl exterior is trim tagged as having silver interior but the only things silver on the inside are the seats, door skins, and convertible deck lid trim. The dash, carpet, and everything else are all black. One restoration book lists an interior color option as silver/black while others list only silver. The post from yesterday makes me wonder if my color combo was actually an option. So what/which color(s) is correct?
I have a white/silver car. I did a lot of research because I was told the same thing by some -- the so-called "party" interior included silver and that a black carpet was used. I don't think a silver interiored 65 came with a black carpet even though some of the books say so. The dash is correct in black, but the carpet should be silver (more of a gray in current reproductions.) I don't know what color the trim behind your seats should be since I have a coupe, but I would think carpet color. All of my interior is silver except the dash.
Someone on here may have a different opinion, but that's my .02.

I don't have a '65 JG, but the NCRS Spec Guide shows that a '65 with the silver exterior (QQ) and silver interior (426 for vinyl, 427 for leather), had a black instrument panel and gray carpet.
Have owned both....had a 65 vert, now have 66 coupe, both with the factory option silver interior. In both cases, the dashboard, instrument cluster, glove box, and console are black. Everything else is silver. Although what passes for silver carpet nowadays is is more of a bland gray.
So Trobert.....if your car has black carpet, it's not correct.

LB66383, could you please post a couple of pictures of your Silver Carpet? I think that would help shed some light on this subject. Thank you!!
Ladies and Gentleman,
Please post pictures of original Silver interior cars (65-67). As you can see, this has never been settled and it would help some of us to see what the original interior carpet, dash, and door panels looked like.:flag:
The following pictures are from my car's interior as I found it over 10 years ago.
Needless to say, the carpeting was thrown out before the restoration started and that is why I am eager to have this information.
The following picture is from a 66 vert that was on ebay last year. It was advertised as having the original silver interior.
