Default Borg/Warner Help Please

I need some info on this Trans...I purchased this in 1978/79 and put roughly 500 miles on it until the engine blew...Trans in storage all this time and never taken apart...still had gear oil in it all this time and have since been drained.
i am now doing a body off restoration and as you might notice i do not have the original running gear.
The equipment i have is the orignal Shifter/rods/levers for 66Vert.
i thought that the B/W and Muncie were similar in that the rods and levers were interchangeable but could use the Hurst shifter?

I also have a Hurst Comnpetition Plus shifter (also purchased in 78/79.) (not the 2 hole version) needed for the kit to convert to stock shifter

In the picture the M21 levers are on the BW and are not pointing (what i was told) straight up in the 12 o'clock position while at this position they are in neutral...i made sure of that.
I've tried flipping them thinking i had them on backwards...no good...
The levers don't point down do they??
What are my options??
I'm getting frustrated
Also any info on this trans would be appreciated
thanks
jack

That's not a '57-'63 T-10; it's a 1974-up "Super T-10" out of a full-size passenger car. Takes different levers and linkage than the earlier "regular" T-10 that was used in Corvettes.

Jack,

Recommend you look at the Hurst catalog:

http://go.mrgasket.com/pdf/manual_shifters.pdf

And then contact Hurst for answers to your questions.

Phone:

Mon.-Fri. EST Address:
Technical Service
Mr. Gasket Company

They also have an E-Mail tech service (but I have better luck - if you can get through) with phone tech service:

Also check their Knowledgebase and search for other issues regarding Hurst products.

Actually this is an EARLY T10 configuration, but the AS# type number indicates a first design ST10, so does the 902 MAIN CASE casting.. Not a later one used in GM cars. THIS WAS NEVER OFFERED IN ANY GM CAR, only could be purchased over the counter from a Borg Warner dealer. The arm slots on the early T-10 are clocked in neutral differently. The later ST10 in GM cars has the same clocking as the Muncie. Look at the speedo gear, it is on the drivers side. GM Super T10 units are 26 / 32 spline with a passenger speedo. If the Muncie arms have the slots positioned lengthwise along the arm, the result is what is pictured so either the shifter shafts are clocked at a 45 degree angle or the arm slots are... try and find new arms. I know vendors are making these arms again. LI corvette does have them.

TO FIX:
You'd need some early T10 arms ( if your arms are clocked straight and the trans is not)... new from www.LIcorvette.com

Call SK speed and swap out the internal shifter shafts or see if he has the arms.. 631-957-9427.

as far as linkages go, there was never a T10 in a 66, so hurst won't help. I suggest getting a T10 linkage for a 63 from Hurst.

Get us a pic of the arms next to the transmission with them off
Paul
