Washer Pump Gasket????
Decided to remove my washer pump assembly from the wiper motor assembly to try and determine why my washers won't work. When I removed the washer pump assembly it had a badly torn, worn and beaten cardboard gasket around the outer edge that attached to the wiper motor housing. Anyone know where I can buy a replacement. I can't seem to find a reference to this cardboard gasket in any of the standard corvette parts catalogues. HELP! This is NOT the gasket that connects the wiper motor to the car.
Also, if anyone else has done to the 67 vette please give me some pointers on what to look for as the most common problems encountered for why the washers don't work. Here's what I checked so far
1. Nozzles are clear as I can blow water through the tubes connected to them.
2. Water in reservoir which I primed to the end of the hose. Is there a way to actually prime the washer pump?
3. Belows appears to be intact and solid.
4. Cleaned out the three rubber seals "things" on the white plastic nozzle assembly, they seem to be in good shape.
Can I plug the unit back in while detached and see if it works? Also, the wiper assembly seems like it has a white plastic wheel that needs to connect to a plastic projection on the wiper motor assembly - is that correct? None of the "rebuild" instructions I have even mention that. Please give me some help here!!!
