Default Help identifing A/C compressor

While cleaning out my old shed, I came across an old compressor that might be from a 66 BB vert that I once owned. There is a metal pad that is welded to the main body with these markings

MODEL
44 FC 5489 5910448

The FC is in larger font sizes.

It also might be off of something my Dad brought home from the dump!

Probably a mid to late 50's GM product.

I have 4 original AC compressors for my 56 Olds 98 Holiday coupe. I've been collecting them as spares. They have these numbers on a stamped tag:

xx FC yyy 5912699

where XX is 30 or 31 and yyy is a 3 digit number that is different from one compressor to the next.

I highly doubt it's a mid year comp. Dates for casting are on rear plate. What due you have? Al W.

My guess is it is a large compressor that isn't the same shape/size as a midyear. I definitely wouldn't think it is correct for a 66, not with that tag on it.

Does it look something like this? This is from my 56 Olds...
