Default turn signal problem

can someone help me solve my prolem? on my 67, the turn signals flash normal except when i have the headlights on(then they flash much slower),and when i have the headlights on and apply the brakes they almost stop.i have replaced the flasher in the fuse panel.i have also noticed when the lights are on if i put the right turn signal on i get a slight flash on the left rear taillight. could i need to replace the turn signal switch?or could it be in the wiring harness?i would need to replace the entire engine harness because all forward lamps are part of the engine harness and repair sections are not available.could the problem be in the turn signal housing or the wiring from it to the engine harness?i don't know where to start.any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreiciated. thank-you

Start by checking all the ground connections.

This would be a good place to start. There are 5 ground wires on the back of the car. One for each tailight and/or backup light and one for the licence plate light. These ground wires all feed back to this connection at the radio. The black wire should be bolted to the metal horizontal brace behind the dash. The other main ground is at the horn relay which is bolted to the radiator support. I don't believe there is a ground directly from the battery to the frame. It goes to the starter motor instead. But since the engine is insulated from the frame, there should be a large ground strap ( or two ) from the engine to the frame. I don't know where they would be, Bubba lost mine.
