Default Power window kits

I'm looking to install power windows in a C2 and was hoping those who have done this would share their like, or dislike for available kits. I have looked at a variety of "universal" kits and the also the one Ecklers sells. Does anyone know of "the kit to buy"? I would rather only have to do this once and want to get something that someone can vouch for. Thanks

I have one from Corvette Central but if I were to do it over again, I'd just have crank windows. Why? Well, I'm still trying to figure out how to replace the motor with the window in the down position. The glass is totally in the way to access everything inside the door!

Thanks Mecom,
I am checking with Electric Limited to see what they recommend. They do not offer a specific kit for the C2, but they do have a good product line. Good luck with the motor replacement.

Thanks Mark you just solidified my decision to stay with the stock setup on my GS.

Why don't you put the glass in the up position to access the motor?

Duh! if he is having to replace the motor, it is probably fried, how is he going to raise the window.

That's the problem. I have an idea of how to do it but it'll involve cutting a hole...

If your motors and regulators are mounted like the factory is it possible to loosen/remove the four mounting screws to permit the regulator assembly to slide down and permit the window to be moved up in the track to a position where you can unbolt the window from the upper track?

Just taking a guess here.

Um, the passenger side... but yea, that's what I was talking about doing but I didn't think of putting the decal back over the hole. That's brilliant! Thanks!! :P

Sorry I just read it quick, plus I don't see where he mentioned the motor is fried. One motor could be moving very slow, or have other problems that would make him want to replace it.

Don't know if this will help you out but I installed a power window kit in my new Ford E-350 Van I purchased in Dec. of 2003. I did this during the Spring of 2004. I purchased this Van for my business and could not handle the factory roll up windows in it. I did some searching around to what was available and ended up buying a kit made by (SPAL) an Italian company then that makes this type of kit. You know what? This kit worked out great. It has now been in use inside my Van for close to 2-1/2 years now and if I didn't know any better I would of thought that it was factory installed for how its works effortlessly. I showed this setup to some of the auto repair customers I sell to and they couldn't believe what a great set up it is for the small amount of money the kit cost me. One of my repair customers ordered a kit after seeing mine work so well. I use my Ford Van everyday and this kit hasn't failed me at all ever. I actually purchased this 2 door kit on Ebay including switches for less then $140 shipped to my home at the time.

Here is a link on Ebay if you want to check one of these kits out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DELUX...QQcmdZViewItem

The kit installs using the factory roll up mechanism already set up in the vehicle. In the kit comes a assortment of black plastic caps that can be painted to match the door panels that covers the window crank hole. In my Van it looks fine. You may or may not care for that look in your C-2 although it may be possible to install C-2 power window door panels without holes using this kit but I am not sure. Anyway I would check it out if I were you. Believe me the quality of the parts are definitely there in the kit. I can attest to that having done this job. You can probably use this kit utilizing the C-2 factory power window switches also if you want I would guess. The kit comes with a cross over harness also. Nothing more to buy.
