Imported Rocker Molding Quality
I have had a set of rocker moldings for my '66 on order for 8 months from Corvette Central. Since I am doing a frame off and don't need them any time soon, I just waited.
They came in today and the quality was less than optimal. They look good from a distance until you notice the lumps in the top crease. Also, they are warped lengthwise almost an inch. I am not sure if the Chinese factory was closed for 8 months, or they will tooling up all this time.
I realize OEM parts are no longer available, but what have you guys done? The old ones are in really sad shape. Has anyone had good luck from any other vendor, or do they all come from the same place?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Ralph.

What bothers me is Corvette Central is a major supplier to our hobby. If this poor of a quality part passed their internal QC were all in trouble.
Just last week I had a good experience with them purchasing an original rebuilt 40083 fuel pump. Gus, in tech support looked at the three in stock for me, described them, and sent the one I picked.

Gary Seymore has alot of these for sale (probably all original OEM).

Look under the parts section of his website and give him a call. I am sure he has some that you will be happy with.

The reproduction stuff is of poor quality. I purchased the pre-bent window channels for my '66 coupe. They did not fit very well. I had a tough time getting them to fit. After several hours of fighting with them, I got them in but, I'm not happy with the way that they fit.
