I feel kind of guilty for posting anything, considering the hurting people in New York and Washington and all over, but believe me, Ive been to several prayer vigils at our church this week and people all over this city and country are calling out to God to help the victims and every one involved. I just hope we as a nation have not drifted so far from God that he Does not hear his children crying out to him.
Are the repo braided wires anygood for performance. I have them on my 66BB. If not what is a good plug wire to use.
Jeff
I use Accel blue BB wires that have braided stainless shields. They run about $60 and have a lifetime warranty, which Accel has honored twice over the years. I suppose if haden't crossed Death Valley and the Mohave Desert on the Power Tour, I wouldn't have fried them for the second time last spring.
It depends if you are trying to stay original. If you don't care about original, then I would use something else. The original type had a single copper core. Because the core is a single wire, it has a tendency to break easily if flexed alot.
I keep my original wires in storage but use stranded wire core for driving. Elmer is correct, the braid is for RF suppression. The radio picks that up as a slight buzz in the background (pitch changes with RPM). It doesn't bother me, but there are after-market stranded wires that have braiding or ones that have the center wire like a coil to cancel out the interference. There are non-metal cores impregnated with graphite which suppress RF noise but I avoid these since they have a much higher resistance when compared to the metal cores.
