Well, i managed to get a little done today. Got the calipers powdercoated last night and just need to assemble them before installation. Spent most of today underneath the car scrapping off the undercoating and cleaning the fiberglass. Then i had to battle with the Passenger exhaust manifold b/c a stud broke off in it. I ended up breaking the ear off the side and had to weld the stud into place. i wasnt about to throw down 280.00 on a new manifold. maybe in the future, but not right. besides you cant see the weld work I did to fix it. Also managed to mount the manifolds, distributor and side pipes. here ya go.

I wont be able to work on the car again until next friday. I am shooting to have it back on the frame by saturday night and hopefully first start up by sunday. We will see...lots to do, but it shouldnt take that long to hook up all the vitals.
Car is coming along nicely. Your exhaust manifolds look great. I need to do mine. What did you use?
I used eastwoods high temp(1000 degree) powder. Last time i powdercoated them it baked off in certain areas. However, they assured me that if i prepared the manifolds correctly before powdercoating that it would work. So, i stripped them(fun), baked them for two hours on broil, removed, let cool, then cleaned with acetone, then baked again at 450 for 20 minutes, let cool, then cleaned with acetone again, then powdercoated and baked again. As soon as i get the car running i will update you on whether or not the powder failed.
looks vary nice. but one question every thing I see that you are doing look to be NCRS spec so why the aftermarket pullys?
NCRS specs?? Powdercoated frame, lots of incorrect colored parts b/c i prefer the cast parts to have a clear powdercoat rather than black overspray etc. Wrong bolts in lots of places, incorrect gaskets, incorrect strut rods, springs, etc etc
I am only interested in what appeals to me, but if somebody wanted to change the car back in the future it can be done without much effort. Oh, and i gave my pulleys to my father for his 64 when he converted his 250hp to a 350hp set up. Something about the halloween colors just doesnt appeal to me.
So are you going to have it ready by cool april nights in Redding? Or cool april raining nights?
I have not gone to one in three years since every year I have been in DC working.
I'll be ready by the end of Novemember . Shooting for first start up next weekend . That's the goal, but i will not be able to work on it again till this friday night. Oh, and i also have to replace an intake manifold gasket on my cobra kit car that day, which will probably take a few hours, so it might be a long shot.
