Default Engine mount bolt problem

Ok, so i took one of the engine bolts out on the passenger side to put on the u ignition shield and then forgot to put the bolt back in after having some difficulty trying to get the bolt started. Anyway, i go back to it this moring and realize that the engine has shifted down a good bit and the only the very tip of the bolt hole in the engine block is now visible. Apparently i had also forgotten to put the other bolt in the engine mount so i only had one holding it in place. Well, i tried to jack on the transmission and a few other places to lift the engine, but it doesnt budge and the jack starts to lift the entire car.
So, any suggestions??

I use a cradle (2x6 base, 1x6 sides) to lift the engine - the side pieces lift it on the pan rail so the pan isn't touched or dented.

This might be obvious but are you sure the jack is lifting the car?

By this I mean, as you lift the motor the car will rise as the weight starts to come off the suspension. To meaningfully lift the motor you have to reach the top of the suspension travel...just like when lifting to change a tire you have to lift the frame quite a bit higher than say an inch just to get the tire off the ground.

Just a thought

Ok, got it fixed. I had to loosen the other mount to engine bolt and the main bolt that goes thrugh the mount and frame.
Jacked it up again and it lined right up. Problem solved. Things are moving along a little faster now. Should be ready for first start up by tonight.
