Default 67 steering shaft

Can someone tell me the exact end to end length of the 67 collapsible steering shaft (in its extended length not the collapsed length) ? Thanks in advance !

Standard (non-adjustable) column - steering shaft overall length 37.49 inches.

Telescoping column - steering shaft overall length (in retracted position) 36.34 inches
- steering shaft overall length (in extended position) 39.345 inches.

Jim; I am either communicating my question poorly of I have something drastically wrong with my steering shaft. I purchased my 67 coupe with most of all the interior disassembled. Up to this point the parts that came with the car are correct and in good condition. Unfortunately, not all parts of the steering shaft, steering column, steering wheel hub, turn signal cancelling cam, etc were included. My steering shaft measures 34" end to end, fully extended. I am not sure if it was telescoping or not but in either case this is too short. I do have the column, the steering shaft, and the steering wheel. First question- can I tell from the shaft's design if it was standard or telescoping? Second question-could you send me a picture of a correct shaft of both types? Sorry the response is so long winded but nothing is making sense with my parts compared to your measurements. I appreciate your assistance.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, been traveling a lot this year.

The 67 shaft is made up of two pieces that slide together. There are two holes thru the middle part that had plastic pins injected. These pins would break and allow the column to collapse in an accident.
When I disasembeled my column I broke the pins and collapsed the shaft. This is how I know the exact length.

This is the non telescopic shaft. I don't have any experience with the telescoping shaft.

Hope this helps
