I see a "Motion" tag on the hood - is it a Baldwin Motion car, or just a tag some PO stuck on there? Since it is a 66 hood, maybe it just came with the hood?
Is my hood a 1966? According to the German documents my car was first registered on Jan. 7th 1966. The VIN is 194675S113778 making it a 1965 (I believe).
I think the Motion tag was just stuck on there by a PO.
I really like the black stinger hood with a red insert - especially a black car with a red interior. Has anybody painted the "hump" of the '66 contrasting colors? Alex
Yes, you are right your VIN indicates a 65 model year Corvette. The "corvette" script on the front driver's side corner of the hood is a 66 model year feature; of course, maybe some P.O. put it on a 65 hood, but in either case, that hood isn't likely original to the car, so I'd wager a 66 hood. Still a great looking car, and I see you even have the "California" tail lights going on there (an extra tail light was added to either side, giving you a total of 6, a common modification).
For resizing pics, Microsoft has a plug-in for the XP operating system that enables you to simply right-click on a saved photo and it will create a resized version of the photo in the same folder. It's the safest (virus-free) and easiest way to do it, and it's free!

yup, it (the 65-66 BB hood) looks pretty freakin cool that way too:
I have also seen it with just the bulge/blister painted, and not the leading stinger (I think I prefer that myself), but those pics reside on my home computer, will have to post em up later.
That's a beautiful car. If it were my car I would leave the BB hood and the 3 tailights on there. I would probably leave the flairs too since they're already on there and they look great. But I especially like the hood.
Nice car for driving through the Italian countryside. Must attract a lot of ladies !
Great looking car. I would keep the hood and flares. Paint looks great. A lot of guys like the 6 lights, but I do prefer the stock 4. Very nice car and the flares are tastfully done. (Check out new Z06 flares, they look really nice)
As far as suppliers, All are pretty good. I dropped a 3400 order on Zip Products for the 59 and they gave me 10% off immediatly.. AND they are pretty good to deal with. Some of the parts were hard to come by and they were able to get them pretty easily.
You can actually order through Zip here on the forum as there is a link to them.
Great looking car! I have over the past several months ordered lots of stuff to freshen uop my '65 as I take it from red (not a Vette red) back to it's original Nassau Blue. As with most Vette catalog vendors, Eckler's gave me 15% of the entire interior and 5% off all other orders over $195/order. The convertible top was from Knoch and the leather seat covers were from Corvette America. Some other bits and pieces were from Paragon. I had several poor experiences with Paragon related to custom chrome pieces. Apparently whoever they use for plating has little concept of quality control. Once I can understand, but more than once is not acceptable. As near as I can tell, just go for the best price you can get until experience dictates otherwise.
